Today, after Center Time and Afternoon Meeting, we had math workshop. Today we worked on measurement - we measured strips of paper using popsicle sticks. The point is to understand the concept of measurement, of course, but also to get the kids thinking about the importance of specifying the units that they used to measure something.
After that, we headed to the computer lab for our time there. When we got back down to our room, we had time to meet a new High Hat friend: Oopy Oops, who introduced us to the /oo/ sound (that's oo as in too). We are beginning to study the vowel combinations, which will make the kids' reading really take off as they master them.
After that, we has a short Choice Time, and then packed up to head home!
